Step out onto the exposed sandstone surface of White Pocket and you might have to remind yourself that you didn’t just travel to another planet. Unlike anywhere else in the world, White Pocket’s one square-mile area becomes a playground for both the body & imagination as you explore its iconic white “turtle shell” formations woven in with a rainbow of warped & wonderful layers. After rains, pools of water collect in potholes and give birth to a whole world of life, including the prehistoric looking triops, a horseshoe crab-like crustacean whose eggs can lay dormant in the sand for decades, just waiting for adequate moisture to reanimate.

The Turquoise Sky Collection was born out of a deep love for the Southern Utah-Northern Arizona region, which is home to a near infinite number of world-class natural sites. The stickers, magnets, postcards, and prints within the collection aim to give the holder a way to retrace the memories of past visits and spark the desire for future visits. I created each design by starting with an original photo, taken either by myself or a close friend during a visit to the site, then overlaying my own digital illustration.
